Departmental Mission: The County Manager's Office provides and coordinates the staff support for the Lea County Board of Commissioners and provides general supervision over all County employees. Its primary function is to implement public policy enacted by the governing body, and provide leadership services to the community, the management team, and employees of the County. The department also provides leadership and technical knowledge to help the Lea County Board of Commissioners carry out its main purpose . . . to plan for the future. Departmental Goals: The major goal of the Department is to provide quality information and leadership skills to enhance the quality of services provided to the resident's of the County, and to enhance employees' capacity for growth and development. Departmental Strategy: The strategic scope is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our current programs, while communicating with the resident's of the County to determine what other programs or policies might be implemented to fully meet their needs. Departmental Objectives: Support services to the Board of Commissioners: To continue to provide efficient and effective staff services to the Board of Commissioners. Communication: To develop a "Good News Network" program to increase the public awareness of the positive activities that are happening within our County. Regional Planning: To coordinate efforts on economic issues with surrounding communities, counties, and the Community Reuse Organization (CRO) through the Department of Energy, so that we may continue to plan for the future. Volunteer Boards: To continue to increase the use of our volunteer boards, specifically Road Advisory and Planning and Zoning. The use of our volunteer board's allows us to stay better informed of the County resident's concerns and issues towards future plans. |
